For more than 25 years, Dr. Kort Igel built a legacy of creating beautiful, healthy smiles in the Omaha community. Known for his warm demeanor and personalized approach, Dr. Igel transformed countless lives through exceptional orthodontic care.
Recognized as “Best Orthodontist” by The Reader for six consecutive years and featured in Omaha Magazine’s Faces of Omaha, Dr. Igel has cemented his place as one of Omaha’s most trusted orthodontists.
A native of Omaha and a third-generation dental professional, Dr. Igel discovered his passion for orthodontics at a young age. Combining his deep understanding of dental science with an artistic eye, he brought confidence and joy to patients of all ages.
His dedication to both advanced technology and patient comfort has left a lasting mark on the field of orthodontics.

- University of Nebraska Medical Center – Master’s Degree and Certificate in Orthodontics
With a passion for education, Dr. Igel continually stayed ahead of advancements in orthodontic care, incorporating cutting-edge tools like the iTero digital scanner and self-ligating brackets to enhance patient comfort and treatment efficiency.
From Dr. Igel to Dr. Chartrand
In 2022, Dr. Igel welcomed Dr. Daniel Chartrand as an associate to continue the legacy of exceptional care at the practice.
Dr. Igel brought Dr. Chartrand on because he saw in him the same commitment to staying at the state-of-the-art without sacrificing that human connection, and Dr. Chartrand officially took over the practice in June 2023. Dr. Igel remained on the team to ensure a seamless transition before retiring in December 2023.
Today, the practice continues to thrive under Dr. Chartrand’s leadership, carrying forward the values and patient-focused care that Dr. Igel established.
Beyond Orthodontics
Dr. Igel spends his free time with his lovely wife Marie, and together they have three children and a house full of beloved pets.
Outside of the office, he enjoys golfing, traveling, and reading.
A dedicated supporter of local animal shelters, Dr. Igel has made giving back to the community a lifelong priority.
Whether on the golf course or spending time with his family, Dr. Igel carries the same passion and warmth that defined his career as one of Omaha’s most celebrated orthodontists.
